Yesterday was Elijah’s first day of First Grade.  I talked to him last night, and he said it was “good”.  I asked him how his teacher was, and he said she was “good”.  I guess he had a “good” day.

We are heading to Disney World in 22 days!  Ryan, Sara, the grandkids, Jay and Kat are going with us, so we are all very excited about going.  When we made the reservations, it seemed so far away, but now it is sneaking up on me.  I need to get away from all this mowing!  I cannot wait to spend an entire week with my husband and family!

I have just been wondering if anyone but pharmaceutical websites read my posts.  Just wondering.

We sold our Trailblazer to Ryan and Sara today because Ryan’s car died, so now we are looking for a new car.  We were not thinking about getting a new car, so we came into this with no idea of what we wanted.  We have looked at a Toyota Avalon, the Chevy Traverse, the Ford Edge and now the GMC Acadia.  I really like the Acadia best, but it is, of course, the most expensive.  Another problem that we are running into is that the dealers do not have many cars on their lots.  This, and the fact that the 2010’s are just now arriving, is making the dealers less likely to deal with John.  The dealers are not taking hardly anything off of the list price at this time, so we are going to wait a bit.  That is unless something good comes up.  We just need to get something by the time it snows because no one wants to drive the Vette in the snow.  Wish us luck!

The State Fair is on right now, and Sara and I took the kids last night.  Ryan, Jay and John are on their canoe trip, so it was just us girls and the kids.  The boys had fun riding the rides, but Josiah was still too short to ride some of them.  This did not make him very happy, but we got through it.  Lily was only able to ride the kiddie cars, but she really liked them.  Sara rode the Spider with Elijah, and both of them felt a little sick afterwards.   I got to ride the Himalaya and the Ferris Wheel with the boys, and it was fun.  I love riding rides.  After dinner, we watched Katherine and her group do their Scottish dances.  They performed for about an hour at the Ethnic Village.  Sara and I really enjoyed the dancing, but the boys, of course, were bored.  We left the fairgrounds at about 8:30, and everyone was tired.  I helped Sara get the boys to bed, and then I headed on home.  It was a good day.

Elijah has lost both of his front teeth.  He lost them at different times, but they were both knocked out while he and Josiah were wrestling on the trampoline.  The first one was so loose that he could turn it all the way around in his mouth.  I did not even know the second one was loose, and it was gone this morning when I got there.  He lost them just in time for school to start (August 20).  I guess his first grade pictures will be without his front teeth.  Everybody has one of those pictures, and we all love them!
