I love this weather! It is 4:00 p.m. on January 10, and it is sunny with a temperature of 55 degrees! Unbelievable!
Is This January?
Happy 7th Birthday Josiah!
Today is Josiah’s 7th birthday. We are going to see Alvin & the Chipmunks this morning to celebrate.
Happy New Year!
Well, another Christmas has come and gone, and all that is left is bits of wrapping paper on the floor. We had a wonderful Christmas this year, and we are so blessed to have our family living so close. Both boys and their wives and the grandkids were here together which we are so happy to have each year so far. Mom came up in the afternoon, and Zeke and Carol came over too! We were thrilled to have all the grandparents here this year. The grandkids were lots of fun, and they were very appreciative of their gifts. We had a nice brunch after opening gifts, and then most everyone took a nap. Unfortunately, most of us have a pretty bad virus that is going around and hanging on and on and on . . . Hopefully, we will all be well here soon
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are able to relax a bit now. I am wondering what I will be doing with all my free time now that I don’t have to go shopping, wrap and prepare for visitors! I am sure I will find something to so. Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas
John and I hope all is well with you and your family, and that you are all ready for Christmas morning. Our grandkids are very excited which helps to keep us all excited too. I have never had any problem being excited at Christmas though. I love the entire Christmas season! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Happy Deer Season Opening Day Eve!
Here I am sitting at my desk in a house full of people with everyone asleep but me. Tomorrow is opening day of deer season (shotgun), so the guys went to bed early. They will be up early, and Ryan and Jay will be here by 5:00. The big question is: do I get up to see them off?
Happy Birthday Elijah
Today is Elijah’s 9th birthday. I cannot believe that he is 9! Wow! It does not seem that long ago that I was holding him in my arms at the hospital. I love you Elijah!
This is More Like It!
I am loving this weather! We have had much cooler temperatures and even some rain. I am not advocating rain everyday (like we had in the spring), but we sure needed it. Our yard and flowers look better now than they have all year. The cooler temps are feeling a little like fall which is my favorite season. I need to go out and buy a fire pit for our patio, so we can burn some wood. That is one thing that I miss from the old house – a wood fire burning.
It’s Hot Again
We had a little break from the hot weather, but it is back. The high is supposed to be 101 today! Oh my goodness. Dare I say that I am ready for winter? I am definitely ready for fall, but sometimes our fall is quite short and goes right into winter. I am definitely looking forward to being able to sit out on the patio again – even if I have to wear my winter coat!
Wow, It Has Been a Long Time!
I have not posted her since April! My post talks about how much rain we were having and how cool it was. Well, needless to say, for the last 2 months we have had hot and humid (but no rain) weather. I knew we would be complaining about the heat even as I wrote that post in April.
I cannot believe that the summer is almost over for the kids. They start school next week.
We have had fun, going swimming, seeing movies and just hanging out. We have seen Kung Fu Panda 2, Cars 2, Mr. Popper’s Penguins, and The Smurf Movie. I have enjoyed them all, and so have the kids. I think we all liked Cars 2 the best. As Josiah says, “it has lots of action!” It really was good.
John has not had to travel all summer, so that has been very nice. It will be hard though when he has to leave this fall.
We are heading to Sterling this Saturday for the Howerter family reunion. It will be so nice to see everyone. All of my family is going, so that makes it extra special!
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Snow will be here before we know it . . .
Are You Floating Yet?
How much rain can we get? This has been quite a wet spring already, and they are predicting rain everyday for the next week. That would not be so bad if it would just rain softly. No, everytime it rains, it is a downpour! Along with that, we have had some pretty severe weather. Even the StormChasers guys have been around here lately. That is scary! They have predicted severe weather for tonight, but so far we have not seen any. Hopefully, it will be calm tonight. Calm, except for the sump pump running every 30 seconds.
